Ireland is a pretty country. I've been living rural for 15 years or so.... and the current house move is into the centre of town so it's going to be a big change but I'm told the streets are paved with gold. :psychofun:

If I hate it... I'll go rural again next year.

Your street looks like a friendly place to live Warflower :)

Umma: Ireland *sigh*...I've always wanted to go there...my husband's family are from there. Mine are Sicilian (want to go there tooo one day come to think of it).

Yep, my street is friendly...we look after each other. We like to stoop it (sit on the stairs in front of the house and bullshit, have a few beers, watch the kids running around). I'll post pics of this year's party (Aug 7) when I'm able to.

Good luck with the new house......go make your fortune girl...for now. :D

Nights only last around 4 hours this time of year so if you happen to have a friendly swallow that sings to you in the morning..... expect it to start around 3am.... so much for peace and quiet. I'm generally just heading to bed at that time.

You should come to Ireland Warflower... I recommend it .... and my neighbours were in Sicilly two weeks ago.... they said it was beautiful.... so start planning that trip.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
