Columbus, Ohio

Alleged sock-napper Maurice C. Teague is behind bars. The Columbus, Ohio, man is accused of grabbing a nine-year-old boy, carrying him behind a supermarket and stealing his socks. Teague now faces kidnapping and robbery charges. Investigators say Teague at first tried to buy the boy's socks, but grabbed him when the youngster refused offers of five and ten dollars. Officers say Teague told them he has 500 pairs of children's socks. One detective says it's obviously odd, someone going after little boys' socks. Teague is now jailed on 75-thousand dollars bond.

Pretty weird stuff - but Kidnapping? I think the charges were too stiff - guess the judge socked it to him

It is kindnapping.

He took the kid behind a building against his will, and stole his socks.

Now it seems he's been stealing children's socks for no logical reasons.

While it can appear comedic and strange, it's also a bit alarming.

He could be a developing child molester, or a criminal of similar persuasion.

He needs to be put away for a bit.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
