On Saturday 9th July, the King of Dance is back! As one of the pioneers of the dance music revolution, Paul Oakenfold comes to Gatecrasher Birmingham on Saturday 9th July. Hailed as one of the world’s leading DJs / remixers by some of the most respected titles including CNN, BBC, Rolling Stone, BPM, Remix & More and whether he’s producing countless film scores including the latest offering from jerry Bruckheimer ‘G-Force’ to producing on Madonna’s latest release Celebration, Oakenfold is one of the most versatile and busiest forces in the music scene today. His relationship with Gatecrasher spans over 15 years including headlining at Summer Sound System, NEC events and many special club nights and we can’t wait to have him back after two storming sets at GB back in 2009/10.

Joined by New York native and Switzerland based DJ/Producer Sean Tyas who is something of a leading light in European trance. Having cut out his niche in the highly competitive production arena to create countless hit tracks, remixes and bootlegs, Sean brings to the dancefloor a mix of melodic harmony, driving groove and cutting edge production techniques. The distinctive Sean Tyas sound has captured the imagination of the trance community with the highest echelons of the trance elite such as Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten amongst the heavyweight playlist support.

Next up we see one of the hottest exports to come from Denmark in recent years. Hailing from northern Denmark, Daniel has been around the world and back again. From Pacha, Buenos Aires over Ministry of Sound, London to QBH Club, Sydney & back again and is now listed at #87 ion the DJ mag Top 100 DJs. However he is more than just a DJ; he is heavily featured on shows like A State of Trance and Trance Around The World and receives praise for his track selection and also his production work which consists of a whopping 4 original tracks and 12 remixes which showcase he can master anything from progressive to uplifting and techy trance.

Rounding up this stella line up will see Gatecrasher stalwart and favourite JFK.

Thanks for asking? How's life treating you, sir? I've been concentrating on writing and producing in the movie business -- which is where I spend most of my professional life.

I don't do it alone. Nelson/Beatfactory in Texas and Rainbow in W. Virginia co-run the joint. When we are up to full speed, Method in Greece and Shawn in Canada also chip in. It just depends whose busy and who isnt. Theoretically, the members should run the forum and we just chip in to make it easy for them. We used to have a lot of Mods, but life has taken it's course .. when they are free, some of them chip in, too.

We don't get alot of spammers and have set up controls to spot them right away. If they do get thru, we like to have fun with them

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
