When Gonjasufi arrived for his first ever live London show last year we asked him if it would sound like the album: “No” he said, “I need to change, it drives me crazy if I don’t, I get restless”. He wasn’t messing about: expecting a lo-fi electronic affair of some kind we were confronted with a full on punk-rock-meets-dubbed-out-hip-hop assault to the senses with Sumach’s wails and croons riding the whole thing like some kind of crazed spirit. With all the psyched-rock improvisation, the incense waving and some very peculiar on stage antiques at times it was hard to be sure if you were not actually tripping your nuts off for real.

It was as intense as it was good and we cannot wait to see him again for his show at XOYO on May 5th. Whatever it is, it will be pretty special.

See you There!

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
