BearShare 4.4.3

A new release of the BearShare Gnutella client has been released over at BearShare land.

Good luck finding a changelog.

For any that don't know, BearShare contains crapware, though, they do offer a pro version. Yep, just pay them some money, and they will help you (poorly) commit copyright infringment, using the Gnutella network (which sucks my left testicle).

BETAs, I believe, don't contain any crapware, and they're free (I could be wrong about that).

All and all, use at the risk of your own frustration.

They are free, but only work for a short time (usually a week or two I think). You have to constantly get a new beta. :wha':

The Gnutella network doesn't do that much good for me either, and when I do use it, I certainly don't use BS.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I wasn't really sure exaclty what I read, but I believe what you stated was correct.

I really don't get any use out of Gnutella at all, but if I had to choose a Gnutella client, i'd choose Shareaza or Limewire.

But in fairness, I like to provide info on program releases.................and throw a few cheap shots in there, but hey, Vinnie and his crapware stuffed program deserve it most out of anyone

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
