Non-BCS TCU, Boise State, and Houston are trying to really shake up the bowls this year!

Yeah, I like that - stirs things up. Would like the race better this year if Penn State hadn't lost to Iowa and Ohio State

University of Houston is out with that loss to Central Florida... TCU and Boise St are poised to go on once the SEC matchup knocks out one of the top two.

Penn State is screwed because they lost to Iowa and Ohio State  Ohio State beat both Iowa and PSU, so they are going to the Rose Bowl. Ironically, Penn State and Ohio State could end up with 10-2 records, so I'm hopeful that PSU will still get a major bowl game.

TCU is officially a BCS buster!

#2 Alabama squeaked by Auburn this past week and is favored to lose to #1 Florida in the SEC Championship.

#3 Texas will face #21 Nebraska and is a heavy favorite.

Keep this in mind: Either #1 or #2 will lose for sure. IF Texas wins, they will likely be in the Citi National Championship game. IF Texas loses, I, as well as others would assume that TCU would move to the #2 spot and play in the Citi National Championship game. BUT, don't forget that #5 Cincinatti plays #14 Pittsburgh and #6 Boise St plays New Mexico State, where either win could possibly leapfrog TCU.

There are a lot of possibilities this weekend, that's for sure. Boise St is looking for an at-large bid to a BCS bowl, and TCU is looking for Nebraska to upset Texas and for Florida to defeat Alabama, as Florida is sky high in the human and computer rankings, to possibly contend for the National Title. Either way, my eyes will be glued to the TV and computer for scores this weekend!

6 top ten teams are playing this weekend. So expect some reshuffling in the rankings

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
