aaaah ..it's that time of year again...... April 'fools' 2004;

Please tell us the best April Fools prank or joke that you did to someone...or had done to you...

My 'best' April Fools prank was one time when I was around 11 or 12 ...I decided to secretly swap the sugar in the family sugar bowl with salt.

Well, my Father got up early to go to work...he got up a little cranky as well.

You can imagine his reaction when he poured his usual 2 scoops on his Corn Flakes for breakfast and ..... aaaaaw.....I can still remember his reaction and loud curses to this day.

Yes , my butt got beat...and the prank wasn't considered funny ...until about 20 years later...LOL

The best (worst?) April Fools joke I've seen was played by a local radio station @ 15 years ago. The one dollar bill had been replaced by the 'loonie' that year. (Admittedly, my memory isn't always faithful, it could have been longer ago)

The radio station announced that the government had passed an act requiring all Canadian currency to be in the form of coin. Then they had 'experts' on to dicuss the ramifications. eg. the sheer weight of carrying that much coin etc.

When they opened up the lines for comments, you should have heard people go ballistic. It was really ugly.

In hindsight it was funny and forseeing. The two dollar bill disappeared @ 5 years later, to be replaced by the 'toonie'.

The worst joke I think was by UTC a year ago. The site had been talking about dissolving, having money problems etc. Then they decided to pretend that they had been closed by the justice department. They neglected to tell even some admins that the joke was coming. Some feelings were hurt if I remember right.

Oh man...the BEST april fools joke I remember was also played by a radio station. In the town where I grew up, everybody LOVES the military because we have on of the national labs there and a huge air force base; you know the type of families that live in the town.

Well...this radio station decided to play a prank, since the space shuttle was landing that day. They said that the Florida landing site had too bad of weather and the shuttle couldn't land in the back-up in California so they said the AFB in my town was next on the list and the shuttle was going to land there.

So, like fifty thousand people (families of air force and labs) all rushed on base (yay for security getting really pissed) and whole bunch of other people just waited at the gates, expecting to get a good spot to see the shuttle landing...

alas it wasn't meant to be, but the Air Force was sure pissed...ahh the hiliarity...
