problem copying wedding photos onto dvd

I'm ready to rip my hair out. I just got married and my photographer told me to copy the DVD of proofs. Usually a simple thing to do but my hard drive crashed a week before the wedding. I had it replaced but ever since I can't burn DVDs by copying folders to the E drive. My duo stick won't even work in it. Is there another way to burn my wedding photos through dvd ?

Put them in a folder and use yousendit or another similar file sending service. it might be a bit of a hassle, but this is a way you can finish the task at hand. Otherwise, you need to get your computer to a repair shop to fix the dvd burner problem. Congrats on the marriage!

What platform you are using? Mac or Windows? Windows XP or Vista. If Vista, you could use the Windows DVD Maker, get very professional-looking DVDs. There are also many tutorials online to help you if you are not familiar with Windows DVD Maker. For XP, many photo to dvd software can do that. Just search google for your favorite one. I've used one called Wondershare Movie Story. Not bad, easily turning photos to slideshow and burn onto DVD.

anyway, google is your good friend.

I've always owned Macs (twitters eyelashes ) I used a compaq computer for work back in the day - that MS-Dos crap did me in. Most people in the entertainment industry use Macs, so I'm just used to them. Have friends and serious coders in the the tech industry that like PCs better - not sure why

Kiwi, did you know the Apple Store sold a billion apps ... a billion downloads people paid for. Yes, you can find them for free - but it's becoming a big business, and lots of little folks are starting their careers that way. I think its kind of cool that Jason came out of the woodwork to share his knowledge - unlike alot of other spammers we've had, who just post their wares and move on.

yep..he`s a real guy alright...unless i`m mistaken this is a public access site..therefore software and resources that are easily accessible to the general public..such as open source and freeware...should in my view be supported...all others should pay us for the free advertising..the kind folks who make wondershare or dariusoft software are hardly struggling coders...and they have no need to set up patsy questions and give patsy advice on this thread which is what new members Jason Summer and Juliet Smith did mate...whereas many who produce free and open source software are doing it hard and deserve the support of sites like BK.......as to apple doing a billion app d/loads...i didn`t say i don`t support free enterprise..i just don`t support free advertising for professional/pay software sites..they should pay for it...anyways..that`s my story and i`m sticking to it.

Wondershare did post a free app for Father's day, and at least Jason peered from behind the wondershare curtain - which is kind of brave B) Dariusoft on the other hand is pushing it - we may have to ban them completely. I tend to be somewhat lenient - on the other hand, I've posted tons and tons of links to free software, and my sentiment is more aligned with yours than major corp's like DariCrap

BTW, here are 70 Cool Free Apps to download

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
