THE 11TH ANNUAL STARSCAPE FESTIVAL

Get Ready for Starscape 2009

SATURDAY JUNE 6, 2009

Welcome to the site of the world renowned Starscape Festival, held at Ft Armistead Park in Baltimore, MD, now in its 11th year. This event features five areas of music, intense light and laser shows, and a host of other attractions including the live art wall created throughout the course of the event by local artists. There are two areas focusing on live music, the Main Stage and the Beach Stage, two areas focusing on electronic music, the Dance Tent and the Drum n Bass Arena, plus a full lineup of dj performers in the VIP area. The park itself is a sprawling 10 acre site at the foot of the Key Bridge, built as a fort in the early 1800’s to guard the Baltimore Harbor. Most of the staging occurs on paved lots, ideal for dancing, but the park also features a large pier, a ¼ mile beach area, a small wooded area, and grassy slopes on which to sit and watch the sunrise. At the event will be an extensive vending area including merchandise, food and beverages, and there is a full bar available for those 21 and over.

Come join us for a spectacular day and night of music and dancing!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
