Do the Dada. and BINGO PLAYERS http://twitter.com/bingo_players http://www.youtube.com/bingobroadcast http://www.soundcloud.com/bingoplayers http://www.bingoplayersmusic.com/ http://gplus.to/bingoplayers Hailing from The Netherlands, Paul Baümer & Maarten Hoogstraten have fused their musical talent into the massive electronic dance duo Bingo Players. The two dutch DJs have created an international reputation through epic releases and massive touring. Early on, they lit up the #1 spot on the Beatport Charts with a horde of huge tracks including "Devotion," "Touch," "Me (vs. Chocolate Puma)," "Chop," and "Disco Electrique." The next phase? They set up a label. In 2010, Bingo Players set up their very own record label, Hysteria. The label was home to their next massive release "Cry (Just A Little)." The track dominated European charts for 22 weeks and racked up over 10 million views on YouTube. Towards the end of 2011, Bingo Players released "Rattle," which owned up to its name, shaking up the Austria Singles Top 75 and Germany Singles Top 100 for nine weeks. "Rattle" has since become one of the biggest club tunes of 2012. This has been a massive year for Hysteria and Bingo Players. Not only did the label release Bingo Players music, but it also showcased talent such as Carl Trick's "Mad Dash," Ralvero's "Rage" and Gregori Klosman's "Minibar." Along with their recording success, Bingo Players have toured extensively with over 30 worldwide music festivals under their belts including Tomorrowland and Stereosonic. The've also performed key US festivals including Ultra and a primetime slot at Electric Daisy Carnival: Vegas. Be warned, be prepared, the Bingo Players are coming to RATTLE a venue near you. Tucked away in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the Boulder-Denver-Ft.Collins triangle is the epicenter of this low-frequency onslaught, producing some of the biggest names in the game. At the top of the heap is Aaron Holstein, a.k.a. VibeSquaD, a musical juggernaut and fearless vanguard in a flourishing scene. Circling the globe with his wholly original brand of bass exploration, VibeSquaD is reaching wider and wider audiences with his studio tracks and out-of-control live shows. The VibeSquaD sound is a sonic culmination of decades of experimentation, innovation, and a propensity for what’s next. Raised just outside of Chicago, Aaron Holstein was exposed to early house, techno, electro, and hip-hop, becoming a crate-digger at a young age. Breaking was an obsession for the youngster, who came up on Sugar Hill Gang, Al-Naafish, and Art of Noise. Late-night parties at the YMCA later brought the underground dance music of the Second City into Holstein’s life—cementing his love for sweaty basements, jam-packed with heads ready to cut loose. When Holstein discovered psychedelic music, and the scope of jam, jazz—and most importantly, funk—the guitar never left his hands, practicing upwards of 8 hours of a day. For all things funky, Holstein turned to the mighty Ohio River, for Parliament/Funkadelic bassist and Cincinnati’s favorite son Bootsy Collins, as well as the Ohio Players. Frank Zappa became a fixation for the young guitarist. “One Size Fits All was a life changer,” Holstein admits. To smooth out the rough edges of his funk and prog idols, he turned to six-string legends George Benson, Grant Green, and the man, himself: West Montgomery. That being said, studio tracks can’t begin to prepare fans for VibeSquaD’s outrageous live performances. Bobbing up and down uncontrollably, arms raised with a permagrin plastered across his face, Holstein hits the stage full throttle, and doesn’t let up until every last spot on the floor is packed with bodies exhausted from a marathon dance session. 2011 has been a breakout year for Aaron, with marquee performances at Sonic Bloom, Electric Forest, and Wakarusa, where he played a sunrise set for a massive crowd. “It was one of the coolest moments I’ve ever had playing live,” Holstein said, “to see everyone dancing as the sun came up—it’s rare to see people in that context.” VibeSquaD has supported huge acts like Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, EOTO, and Tipper, but with his recent addition to super-agent Hunter Williams’ Progressive Global Agency, the time has come for Aaron to step up and step out. His recent September 6th release of Orphan Alien Part 1 EP debuted at #31 on the iTunes Electronic Chart, and his Single Shine is currently ranked at #10 on Beatport’s Glitch Hop chart. Having reached the next level, expect to see the VibeSquaD circus packing even bigger clubs, theaters, and festivals across the country, and around the world. The VibeSquaD has arrived. In a little over a year Delta Heavy, or Si James and Ben Hall to their mums, have already proven their drum & bass metal with a succession of heavy-hitting original tracks. They met at university in Nottingham and after several years of hard work, their production efforts resulted in their debut drum&bass release on Viper's acclaimed 'Acts of Mad Men' compilation in June 2009. A track in the urban thriller 'Harry Brown,' (which featured the sound track by Chase & Status) and several dubstep and house remixes followed in quick succession. Signed to Ram in early 2010, their debut single 'Space Time / Take The Stairs' was nominated as Best Track at the 2010 Drum&BassArena Awards as well as nominations for Best Producer and Best Newcomer DJ. Hitting number 1 across all the download stores, 'Space Time' was undoubtedly one of the biggest d&b tracks of that year. With a rammed out DJ schedule for the rest of 2011, a February and March 2012 tour of Australia, USA and Canada plus some of the most exciting music to emerge from such a new act in recent years in the form of an EP for Ram in the first quarter of the year, Delta Heavy are two guys who won't be disappearing from your wave lengths any time soon. Their development and consistent drive for improving technique and sound quality can be seen through their initial discography. Tracks such as 'Chucky' 2009 and 'Filth Lummox' established them as one's to watch amongst an evolving breed of producers within dub step's more technical variant. With all eyes on the London based production duo the Foreign Beggars asked them to remix Medison feat. THOMAS GOLD http://www.thomas-gold.com/ http://www.twitter.com/thomasgold http://www.myspace.com/djthomasgold http://www.youtube.com/ThomasGoldofficial http://www.soundcloud.com/thomas-gold http://www.beatport.com/artist/fd/15276 http://gplus.to/ThomasGold Thomas Gold is a Berlin-based DJ and producer who within the last couple of years has released a string of smash singles, played the planet's foremost clubs and festivals, remixed some of the biggest pop acts in existence, and garnered praise from a whole host of his contemporaries. Although Thomas has been building momentum since his first releases back in 2006, his run of original productions in 2010 and 2011 have been a key factor in his staggering recent success. And looking over the labels he has worked with in this time—some of modern club music's most widely recognised—should only emphasise this point. Mark Knight's global institution Toolroom have welcomed Thomas for a trio of singles—"Marsch Marsch", "The Button" and "Work That / Kananga". Legendary Dutch imprint Spinnin' hosted Thomas' link-up with Alex Kenji, "What's Up". He followed up "Areena", his collaboration with David Tort and David Gausa on Phazing Records by linking up with label head Dirty South on "Alive". And then there was "AGORa", his debut release with Steve Angello's Size, which was followed soon after by his massive rework of Fatboy Slim's "Star 69" on Skint. Thomas' sound can loosely be described as progressive house that draws in influences from electro, trance, techno, minimal and tribal. His music is known for his heavy and impeccably constructed drum sounds, catchy melodies, massive chord sections and, of course, his energetic and uplifting builds. His thirst and talent for DJing, coupled with the aforementioned run of singles, have seen him amass an enviable list of bookings, just take a look at his 2011 by way of example. In the first half of the year Thomas bagged a spot on the bill for Swedish House Mafia's Masquerade Motel party during Miami Week, and then returned to the city in June to headline Space. SHM then welcomed him back to play their stage at the Las Vegas Electric Daisy Carnival and their residency at Pacha in Ibiza. As for the rest of year? That took in festival slots at Creamfields and Tomorrowland, clubs gigs at Sankeys and Ministry of Sound Club in the UK, and a special New Year's Eve set at Kool Haus in Toronto together with Steve Aoki. And as part of Steve Angello's Size Matters events, Thomas played to massive crowds at Governors Island in New York (as well as the after party at Pacha), Fontainebleau in Miami, and Escape From Wonderland in California, culminating in a giant New Year's Day party at White Wonderland in LA. The other integral part to this story, of course, has been Thomas Gold's remixes. Sander van Doorn, Jay C & Felix Baumgartner and Moguai have all come in for recent treatments, while Thomas teamed up with Axwell to great effect, remixing Hard Rock Sofa & St. Brothers' "Blow Up." Perhaps most striking of all, though, have been Thomas' pop reworks. Not only did he do a number on Lady Gaga's "Judas", but his majestic version of Adele's "Set Fire To The Rain" is currently sitting somewhere in the region of 12 million views on YouTube. (Yes, you read that right.) As a further sign of the faith that fellow artists have placed in him—and indeed the incredible year he has just experienced—Thomas was name-checked as a one of the breakthrough acts of 2011 by Swedish House Mafia, Sander van Doorn, Cosmic Gate and Axwell, as DJ Mag quizzed them as part of their annual Top 100 coverage. Looking further ahead and Thomas' GoldCast, started out in May 2011 as a platform for Thomas' tastes, will undoubtedly continue to flourish alongside his weekly radio show. The early stages of 2012 will see Thomas step to Axwell's Axtone label for his debut full release "Sing2Me", in addition to a remix of Miike Snow "The Wave". And after scoring an Essential New Tune accolade with their previous collaboration ("Alive"), Thomas and Dirty South's "Eyes Wide Open" has just hit the scene and is shaping up to be equally well-received. "The last 12/18 months have been fantastic for me," says Thomas in summary. "I really feel that I've found my sound. It's great to get the support from a lot of my peers and to get the opportunity to work alongside some of my idol DJs and producers has been a real honour. Most importantly, the fans seem to be into what I'm doing, whether producing or what I'm playing in my sets—their reaction is why I love to do this!" Regarded as one of the greatest DJs ever to touch a turntable, the Ram Records founder has relentlessly dedicated almost two decades of his life to the music he loves, flying across the globe week in, week out, to demonstrate a mastery of craft that has earnt him a status as one of the most iconic and important figures in global dance music culture. Much more than just a DJ, Andy C is a true figurehead for the drum & bass movement, within which he has been an instrumental player since its very beginnings; his DJ sets and own seminal productions helping to evolve the genre through the many stages of its evolution. Andy’s dedication to dance music is only matched by his list of achievements, and his is a journey that has taken him from sneaking into raves in barns as a 13 year old, to the glamorous terraces of Space in Ibiza and being invited to speak at Oxford University. Growing up in Hornchurch, Essex, the young Andy got his first taste of the rave culture that was sweeping the UK in the late-1980s from his older sister, Sarah. At just 12 years of age, Andy would obsessively educate himself by listening to her rave tapes and local pirate radio, eagerly absorbing the sounds of the nascent rave scene and desperate to become involved in its rapidly emerging culture. At 15, Andy first met Scott Bourne (Red One) through a school work-experience placement. The slightly older Scott ran a rave called Imagination in Bishopsgate, London, and it was here that Andy’s attention was first captured by the DJ controlling the crowd. After buying a cheap pair of decks, plenty of sleepless school nights spent practicing, and endlessly mailing out demo cassettes; luck struck and Andy was asked to play at Elevation on London’s Shaftsbury Avenue. Residencies at legendary raves such as Telepathy followed and, as Jungle emerged from Hardcore, Andy C became a name to watch. With his career as a DJ taking flight, although still yet to finish school, Andy was also busy cutting his teeth as a producer, grappling with the rudimentary music-tech of the early-90s under the guidance of family friend Ant Miles, and creating his own tracks on reel-to-reel tape players and monophonic samplers. Having spent months working on the four-track ‘Sour Mash’ EP, the young DJ was determined the tracks should find a release. As such, just one week after finishing his GCSEs, Ram Records was launched, taking its name from Andy’s star sign (Aries) and with a logo hand-drawn by his sister on the kitchen table at home. Little did anyone involved realise then, but what would go on to become one of the biggest and most powerful brands in dance music had just been born. Ram’s third release, the classic ‘Valley Of The Shadows’ (with Ant Miles under the Origin Unknown moniker) in 1993, assured Andy a place in the history of dance music at the age of just 16, but the teenager from Essex wasn’t about to rest on his laurels. As the 1990s went on, and Drum & Bass emerged from Jungle, Andy’s impeccable DJ sets consolidated his status as an essential at any big rave, while Ram continued to develop into one of the most forward thinking and consistent labels in dance music. Two albums followed for Origin Unknown, ‘Speed Of Sound’ and ‘Sound In Motion’ in 1997 and 1998 respectively, before Andy and Ant linked up within another longstanding local friend, Shimon, to form the mighty Ram Trilogy. In 1999 the trio released ‘Molten Beats’, a landmark drum & bass album that signified just how far the genre come in the few short years since the emergence of Jungle in the early-90s. Over the following decade both Andy and Ram refused to let up. DJing more than ever, in almost every corner of the planet, Andy was - and continues to be - repeatedly voted Number One at every D&B awards ceremony going, confirming his reputation for near super-human skills behind the turntables with every set, and demonstrating a technical and musical erudition that led to his fond labelling as a ‘robot’ by the fans that religiously attended the packed-out Ram events at The End nightclub in London’s West End. In 2003 Andy released the first in his ‘Nightlife’ mix series, winning universal acclaim for its selection and construction and spawning four further instalments over the years that would follow. While Andy kept himself busy with a tireless DJ schedule during the first decade of the new Millennium, Ram was busy too – signing up the brightest sparks from D&B’s new wave of producers. Among these were two names that have since become some of the biggest producers working in electronic music today; Sub Focus and Chase & Status, who have both gone on the record to expressing their gratitude for Andy’s role in their unprecedented success as producers. Despite this incredible career, the future is set for only bigger and better things for a man who has dedicated the vast majority of his life to the music he loves and believes in. After a year that saw him unleash the latest ‘Nightlife’, moving the Ram nights to London’s Fabric superclub, signing a whole raft of fresh talent to the label and even lecturing at Oxford University, as the new decade develops the man they call ‘The Executioner’ isn’t softening up… in fact, he’s sharpening his axe. DOWNLINK http://www.facebook.com/downlink http://www.twitter.com/downlinkmusic http://www.soundcloud.com/downlink http://www.youtube.com/officialdownlink Downlink has been punishing dancefloors all over the planet with his heavy brand of bass. With roots in Jungle & DnB, he is no stranger to the vile side of subsonic dance music and has set out to explore a frantic, adrenaline fuelled style, influenced by everything from heavy metal to astrophysics. He is a Rottun Recordings regular, but has also released on some of the biggest labels in the game like Mau5trap and OWSLA. While consistently coming up with sick material time after time, he has gained DJ support from all of the biggest names in the scene. His successes on the Beatport charts have been extraordinary. He managed to hold down 4 of the top 10 spots in dubstep at one time and has had multiple tracks hit #1 in both dubstep and drum n bass. Recently Downlink's skills have landed him a prominent role in the production of legendary nu-metal band Korn's tenth studio album. His keen ear for sound even led him to being given the honour of mixing the album. He then went on to support the band on tour in America and Europe, playing to massive arenas, time and time again leaving crowds stunned with his energetic performance. Downlink is not one to be pigeon-holed and is constantly on a quest to evolve and refine his sound. With this in mind, one thing will always remain constant - a pure unadulterated heavy listening experience… MC ARMANNI REIGN http://flavors.me/armannireign http://www.soundcloud.com/armannireign http://www.twitter.com/armannireign In the beginning... Armanni Reign grew up rapping everywhere from elementary lunch room tables to high school hallways to college house parties as a hobby before realizing the worth of his gift. Back then you would prove your worth by progressing from cyphas to battles, which is what he did to make a name for himself. He started in small competitions and eventually worked his way on to radio spots. After spending three continuous months as Philly 103.9FM's 'Cypha' champion, MC Armanni decided he needed a change. Not seeing any longevity in the Battle Circuit had motivated Armanni to switch things up. His introduction to drum and bass was an experience shared by many first timers- Sutpens' Jungle, February 2000. His first mixtape was "DJ SS live at Sutpen's Jungle" on which the vocal skills of MC Skibadee and MC Foxy gave Armanni insight to the lyrical potential of Drum and Bass. Citing MC Skibadee as one of his main influences at the time, Armanni developed a distinctly powerful and diverse style of lyrical delivery. It garnered respect amongst his peers as well as many of the top Drum and Bass MCs and DJs in the World. Staying true to his hip hop roots, Armanni delivers bounce, flavor and lyrical wizardry. 2003 was a fantastic year for MC Armanni Reign because not only was he nominated Best Breakthrough MC at the Knowledge Drum and Bass Awards, he also became the official Metalheadz Americas MC. He is undoubtedly one of the most well known lyricists in Drum and Bass amongst the respectable forces of Skibadee, GQ and Dynamite. With releases currently on Gasm, Freak, Intasound, Westbay Music Group and TekDbz, MC Armanni has set his sights on the grand realm. As a part of the powerful collective known as Mental Sharp along with Sharpness MC, the duo has released five Hip Hop mixtapes: On n Poppin', Above the Beats Below the Bass Negative 1, 2 & 3 and Epiphany. They have rocked mics on stages and in the booth since 2003 dropping anthems like 'P.H.I.L.L.Y. VIP' (GASM) and 'Hit Em' Hard' (TekDbz). Whether it is just small clips for dancefloor bangers like 'Ruff Rugged N Raw' (Mason) and 'Violent Sound' (Hive) or full on verses for smashers like 'Take That' (Ewun) and 'Fahrenheit 215' (Photek) Armanni's presence is felt in every syllable. His future sounds off in many different genres which he will give a taste of with his upcoming EP- 'Off the Grid' to be released late December of 2010 on Westbay. This will give listeners a sense of his new vibe while he works on his full length album (untitled). While the five track EP focuses mostly on Hip Hop and his take on Dubstep his full length will also showcase Electro, Breaks and other musical influences. Already testing the Dubstep waters with tunes like 'The Chase' (Down Jones), 'Activate' (CHI), 'Get Up' (CHI) and 'Follow Me Now' (Noah D), one can only guess what styles Armanni will use when stepping outside of the box. 'White X-mas' (Origin) and 'Dark Room' (BeasTmode) might be an indication "Of Things to Come" Armanni performs with many of the top Drum and Bass as well as Dubstep artists at almost all the top shows. Residencies have included Bassrush (LA), Platinum (Philly), DJ Series (Philly), Metalheadz, Heavy Duty and Ultraworld at Sonar (Baltimore). He has amazed crowds at the World of Drum and Bass, Electric Daisy Carnival, Nocturnal, Together as One, Starscape, Buzz, Ultra and many other massives sprawling from New York to Japan and from London to Australia. Armanni has toured with the likes of Goldie, DJ Craze, Kenny Ken, DJ SS, Dieselboy, Andy C and is frequently requested to MC exclusively for many other top djs in the industry. MC, Rapper, Producer, Artist, and Father... the self-proclaimed "Ghost MC" is not to be slept on. Aside from that, he has also done remixes for some of the biggest names in the scene such as the Crystal Method, Freestylers, Bassnectar, Noisia, Diplo, the Wu-tang Clan, and Apex from the critically acclaimed Lifted Music label; not to mention countless collaborations with some of the hottest producers in the scene. With multiple anthems under his belt, countless plays from some of the biggest DJ's, and an endless perseverance to reach that next step, it is safe to say that Datsik has proven himself to be one of the best dubstep artists around... and he is here to stay. Plus Performances From DELTA HEAVY http://www.facebook.com/deltaheavyuk http://www.twitter.com/deltaheavyuk http://www.soundcloud.com/deltaheavy Battering down the doors of the genre elitists come a pair of producers plucked from the ranks of Ram's new generation of incredible music making talents. BARE NOIZE http://www.facebook.com/barenoize http://soundcloud.com/barenoize http://www.myspace.com/barenoize Bare Noize have become some of the world's most sought after producers since their early work in 2009. Instantly you could see that their combined multiple instrument skills, audio engineering and an ear from precision production were going to lay the foundation for them quickly becoming a formidable contender in the electronic producer scene. Skrein for their imprint Dented which led to one of the biggest Dubstep anthems of 2010 'Harry'. 2012 will see Bare Noize raise the bar even higher with the release their eagerly awaited EP, embark upon their debut tours of USA, Australia, New Zealand and Asia and development of their stage show is already in production. AFK https://www.facebook.com/afkdubstep/ http://www.soundcloud.com/AFKdubstep Hailing from Dallas Texas, AFK is a bass music producing monster consisting of Jimmy Blythe. AFK is getting his productions played out by the likes of; Rusko, Datsik, Downlink, Calvertron, Crizzly, Excision, Run DMT, and many other large names throughout the EDM genre. The No Hostages Tour w/ SLUGGO http://www.facebook.com/slugstep http://soundcloud.com/sluggodubstep http://twitter.com/sluggodubstep Electronic dance music has gotten too safe. Somebody needs to come in and shake things up before the genre becomes swallowed up in a haze of corporate machinations and twirling glow sticks. Sluggo is the antihero EDM desperately calls for. The Phoenix-based artist, producer, and C.E.O. of Ultragore Recordings makes violent, visceral, and vicious dubstep; embracing everything from heavy metal to first person shooters, he taps into a guttural edge and pulls out dark grooves so staggering you can't help but move. With knives sharpened and guns blazing, Sluggo stands on the cusp of another electronic revolution. To create this sound, he's not drawing from the usual places. He's quicker to cite Pantera and Killswitch Engage as influences than anything else. "Growing up all I listened to was rock, metal, and rap," he affirms. "I like the gritty style of bass music. It's heavy, dark, and evil shit. Those grimy bass lines could be like a raw guitar chug. There's double bass with the triplets. Whatever I do needs to be gory, ultra-violent, and metal as fuck." Ultimately, he's not going to just blaze through EDM though. "I want diversity," Sluggo declares. "I want people who listen to heavy music, hip hop, and country to dig my shit. I want them to think, 'What's going on there?' I want them to feel it and have fun. That's it." - Rick Florino, May 2012 HELICOPTER SHOWDOWN http://facebook.com/HelicopterShowdown http://twitter.com/HeliShowDown http://soundcloud.com/HelicopterShowdown The four person Bay Area production force known as Helicopter Showdown has earned the reputation in the underground bass music culture as “Wu Tang” of Dubstep. These West coast bass monsters have been turning heads and crashing parties worldwide with their unique blend of heavy dubstep and melodic electro house. Having dominated the Bay Area bass music scene over the past year, HS has been called out of their homeland to perform and curate events all over the country in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Baltimore, Denver, Philadelphia, Seattle, Houston, Detroit, and Las Vegas to name a few. Supported by such highly respected artists as Rusko, Borgore, Mt. Eden, Calvertron, Skism, Downlink, and Reid Speed amongst others, their music is quickly being recognized everywhere from the most distinguished UK dubstep pioneers to the smaller pockets of bassheads in middle USA. With their dedication to production, their fans, and taking their four person team onto the stage and turning any given party into a full blown event, keep a close eye on Helicopter Showdown as they bring the party from the West Coast underground to a city near you. NERD RAGE https://www.facebook.com/NerdRage.music http://www.soundcloud.com/nerdrage http://www.twitter.com/nerdrage_ http://www.youtube.com/oknerdrage Nerd Rage's music, hand-in-hand with his stage presence, is loud, aggressive, and right in your face. Playing everything from Moombahton and Dubstep to Drum and Bass in action-packed sets, Nerd Rage has gained quite a following in the electronic dance music scene. Starting his music production career in 2010, Nerd Rage has quickly risen to the top of the heap beginning with his first single, "Real Life," hitting top 10 on the Beatport charts. One of the tracks was featured at number one on Beatport's "Top 10 Must Hear Dubstep Tracks." His followup EP, "Elbows of Fury," featuring collaborations with Sluggo & Terrabad, has topped out at #2 on the beatport charts. Korn Frontman Jonathan Davis also listed the track, "Dark Crystal," as one of his top 5 favorite EDM songs for Revolver Magazine. His tunes can now be heard on dancefloors and radio around the world, with top DJs such Evol Intent, Pendulum, Excision, Funtcase, Datsik, Downlink, SKisM, Bare, and Dieselboy playing his musical creations. The individual members behind Pendulum have been active in Perth's live music scene for several years: producer / vocalist / keyboardist Rob Swire and producer / bassist Gareth McGrillen played together in the acclaimed Perth band Xygen, while Paul ‘Elhornet' Harding had been a veteran of the Perth DJ scene. The initial result of the collaboration was the seminal 'Vault', released on the highly respected 31 Records. 'Vault' went on to become the biggest anthems of 2003. This was confirmed when the track received the much sought after Knowledge Magazine award for 'Best Single of 2003'. ‘Vault' was followed by a series of brilliant tracks including 'Trail of Sevens', 'Spiral' and 'Ulterior Motive', 'Back to You' and 'Still Grey' and a remix of 'Tonite' by Concord Dawn. Two heavyweight DJs that have supported the Pendulum sound ever since its creation were the legendary Adam F and the renowned DJ Fresh who asked Pendulum to join their recently formed BREAKBEAT KAOS label in order to form a tight crew of like minded musicians. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity; as a result towards the end of 2003 the trio relocated to the UK and have been touring the world extensively ever since in an attempt to generate further awareness around their unique sound. Pendulum's debut single for BREAKBEAT KAOS, the epic 'Another Planet' backed with 'Voyager' exceeded any prior expectations. The single made its debut at #1 in the UK's National Dance Chart and even went Top 40 in the mainstream chart. 2005 saw Pendulum release their debut artist album on BREAKBEAT KAOS, the highly acclaimed ‘Hold Your Colour' that went on to sell in excess of 300,000 copies and spawned their first Top 30 hit in the shape of the single ‘Slam / Out Here'. The band's full live experience (which adds guitarist Perry ap Gwynedd, drummer Kodish and MC Verse to the core trio) also became an exciting prospect with a defining headline performance at Glastonbury's Dance Stage being a particular highlight. By now the biggest artist on the underground, Pendulum aimed to continue their rise by signing a new deal with Warner Bros. Records / Ear Storm. Re-emerging with the fan favourite single ‘Granite', it was the Radio 1 A-listed follow-up ‘Propane Nightmares' that enabled Pendulum to leap into the mainstream. The band then followed a defining performance at Radio 1's Big Weekend by seeing their second album ‘In Silico' debut at #2 in the UK album charts. The album was certified Gold within a month of release and its success continued unabated over the summer months with a diverse array of festival appearances including Linkin Park and Jay-Z's Projekt Revolution, Download, Creamfields, Reading / Leeds and T in the Park. Following a succession of sold-out London shows and a memorable performance on Later with Jools Holland, Pendulum's momentum continued with their biggest UK headlining tour to date before an audience in excess of 50,000 people. Radio 1's continuing support also included a special documentary on the band that aired over the Christmas period, while ‘In Silico' approaches 300,000 sales in the UK alone. Pendulum have also been making huge strides towards breaking through in America having earned praise from the likes of Billboard (who described the band as a "breakneck brand of aural dynamite") and the LA Times ("The electro-rock band evokes the Prodigy's sense of screaming, face-crushing bombast with savvy beats straight off the contemporary low-end-heavy zeitgeist"). Their debut US live tour featured thirteen sold-out shows from coast to coast, including a date at Los Angeles' 1300 capacity Mayan Theater. Their tour also trekked into Brazil and Mexico. Their North American progress forged ahead with frenetic television appearances on Jimmy Kimmel and Carson Daly. Meanwhile, their continuing live popularity also received a succession of boosts with killer sets at Coachella and SXSW and their first ever headline appearance at Miami's Ultra Music Festival. As 2009 progresses, the Pendulum juggernaut continues to roll on, devastating all in its path. One of the most visceral and exhilarating live experiences around ("One of the most enthusiastic reactions afforded a main stage act in Big Day Out history," observed Kerrang! "Phenomenal doesn't even come close"), Pendulum's highly acclaimed live performance has been captured in their ‘Live At Brixton' CD / DVD set. Grammy nominated director Paul Caslin has created an aweinspiring visual celebration of the band's live experience that captures the fiery intensity of the audience's impassioned reaction with a dazzling visual artistry never before seen in a live document. Now having spent a second summer as the defining band of the international festival circuit (including phenomenal receptions from crowds at Glastonbury, Download, Isle of Wight and T in the Park festivals), Pendulum have just gone back into the studio to work on their third album that will include some truly exciting collaborations. The first material to emerge from these sessions will be unveiled towards the end of the year. BARE http://soundcloud.com/barestep http://twitter.com/barestep http://www.facebook.com/BARESTEP For Los Angeles bassline technician BARE, aka Sean Rodela, 2012 will be fondly remembered as the year his twisted face melting sickness exploded into a worldwide epidemic. Taking the dubstep scene by storm with his staggering studio output and electrifying live performances, there is no question BARE has clawed his way into the ranks of the bass music elite - and he's not going anywhere. If you don't know, time to get to know... The BARE sound is a product of deep roots in rock, west coast hip-hop (as part of the Vital Mindz collective) and aggressive drum 'n' bass (as past alias Reborn). These influences, combined with ultra crisp drum programming, slick melodies and mind altering bass modulation, spawn face melting dubstep anthems that practically rewind themselves. "I'd have to say that the love of making something from nothing inspires me to make music," BARE says. "There is no better feeling than when you see people go insane to something you created from scratch!"' The momentum shows no sign of slowing in the months to come. A Subhuman tour (with Dieselboy, BARE, Smash Gordon) kicks off in early February, with dates already scheduled throughout the country. More releases & remixes arealreadyin the pipeline for Subhuman (including an artist album and a massive collaborative release with the likes of Numbernin6, Muffler, and Mark Instinct to name a few), Buygore / Ultragore, and Play Me Records. BARE wasrecently commissioned for a brutal rework of metalcore band Asking Alexandria's "A Single Moment of Sincerity", which should see the light of day soon. A collaboration with Borgore is in the works, and BARE continues to refinehis solo sound daily with constant studio time and an undying dedication to music. "Some serious producers and sounds are coming on a constant basis now, and I love every second of it! The future for dubstep looks super bright!" Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, the music he conjures up is like no other- a constant barrage of unique noises tailored to be a pure assault of the senses right from the get go. His first dubstep release 'What do you hear?' hit #3 on the Beatport charts and put him firmly on the map as a force to be reckoned with. It wasn't long before he joined the growing stable of talent on Rottun Recordings. He also started up his own label, Ajapai Entertainment, which has numerous successes including a remix of "Incoming" ended up getting #1 on Beatports drum n bass chart. It even went on to secure a Beatport Annual award, which is testament to the fact that this man means business. Ajapai's EP's on Rottun have absolutely floored audiences all over the world and have charted amazingly well, consistently landing in the top 3 on the dubstep charts. His latest release "Before The Sun" with Excision and Downlink hit No.1 on that chart. Over the last couple of years Ajapai has toured internationally in Europe, Canada, and America. The completely and utter destruction he releases on dance floors can only be understood by witnessing his DJ sets live for yourself. With a style like no other and a commitment to quality, it is guaranteed that the only direction for Ajapai to go is straight up!!! First emerging with tracks for one of jungle/D&B's most legendary labels, Dillinja's Valve Recordings, it was the release of TC's debut album 'Evolution' in 2007 that propelled the young producer to D&B's top table. Packed with anthems such as the utterly unique 'Deep' featuring MC Jakes, 'Jump', 'Rockstar' and the enormous 'Where's My Money' (famously remixed by Caspa), 'Evolution' earned TC the titles of 'Breakthrough Producer' and 'Producer Of The Year' at the BBC Radio 1Xtra Drum & Bass Awards, while catapulting him to the top of Radio One's National Dance Chart and earning unprecedented radio support from everyone from Pete Tong and Jo Whiley to MAH and Zane Lowe, with the latter bestowing TC with highly regarded 'Record Of The Week' title on more than one occasion. More than just another faceless DJ or studio-confined producer, early on TC broke convention by singing on many of his own tracks, and provided vocals for Pendulum's debut album 'Hold Your Colour', a habit he continues to this day, having recently supplied vocals for Hospital starlets Camo & Krooked's debut LP and the mighty Subfocus' forthcoming second album. After taking a short break from the spotlight, 2011 saw TC return to the raves and the airwaves in style, dropping one of the year's biggest D&B bangers 'Tap Ho' while turning his hand to dubstep on 'Concrete' and drumstep on 'Burning Starlight' (both featuring vocals from Dread MC). Released through his own freshly launched record label, Don't Play, the artistic freedom offered by being his own boss is already clearly paying dividends for TC. "I'm not playing around anymore; I don't want to do things by halves," TC stated in a recent interview. "I think I'm at a stage now where I can choose my own path." And with Don't Play firing on all cylinders, a packed global DJ schedule and more massive tracks up his sleeve, TC is quite clearly on the right path. 2012 already has his name all over it.... His agile melodies layered over headnodic, immaculately-produced beats captivated fans across the internet and across the world.
