Happy Friday everyone. I hope to get a set of tennis in today, and then I've gotta get into a concentrating writing mode. Gonna play a couple old movies over the weekend, too (Flirting With Disaster, Planes-Trains & Automobiles) for a project I'm working on. That's about it. How about you all?

nice vid, Dude. I like Otis well enough that I pirated several of his albums.

I wish I was sittin on the dock of the bay instead of sittin in the projects. I notice Otis was sittin in the San Francisco Bay area.

I would much rather be sitting in the Galveston Bay area.

Well, maybe in a few months when they get the boats off the Island and get the houses out of the bay. What a damn shame the situation is down there. Galveston had some nice historic buildings and things. Most of it is gone forever.

Left work early on Friday night to practice with a band that needed a backup vocalist for a benefit they're doing this Saturday. That was pretty intense but they like me and I felt comfortable so I'm doing it -- got home VERY LATE..ugh.

Saturday, slept late, cooked, rented movies and cuddled with my son Conor-- Jet Li/Jackie Chan's the Forbidden Kingdom (I'm a sucker for kung fu movies...lol). Loved it!

Sunday, beautiful weather...just sorted the summer/winter clothes and sent some to Goodwill. It's AUTUMN! I'm so happy.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
