The rest of the world has probably seen the closing ceremonies, but I'm looking forward to seeing them later this evening B)

It was no opening ceremony, but it was still pretty good.

Hopefully the delay showing it in America will give the editors the chance to cut out the slightly embarrassing London 2012 section.

After the human flame on the tower of remembrance, David Beckham kicking a football into the crowd fell rather flat.

As the red bus drove into the Bird Nest stadium, the commentators here said, "unlike a real London bus, this one is on time."

I think that perfectly sets the tone for the next Olympics. If the theme isn't going to be 1984, it should be cynicism. It is the one thing we are true experts at in this country. It also means the worst people will be able to joke is, "cynicism? that will never work as a theme."

The press is already having a field day as the video shown in the closing ceremony contained a fleeting shot inside an art gallery. In the corner on the wall of the art gallery is a picture of a women who killed 4 children. You'll have to see if you can spot her Dude, which should be easy given the world's expertise on 1960's London murderers. If you do, I'd like to highlight that she does not represent London - a mistake the press here thinks you might make.
