The popular "Batman the Ride" rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Georgia remained closed Sunday while authorities continued investigating the death of a teenager who jumped over two fences and was struck by the ride.

The 17-year-old South Carolina teen who died was identified as Asia Leeshawn Ferguson, of Springfield, S.C. He was on a church outing when the incident occurred about 2 p.m. Saturday. It was the second Batman ride-related death at the Cobb County park.

Can't really say the ride caused it... the boy was trying to go into an unauthorized area by jumping a fence and the ride took his head off! I mean... geez, read the signs! :mad2:

I, and plenty other people have dropped items before. All you have to do is ask one of the employees to get it for you. You'll have to wait, but they'll get another crew member to go and get your lost item. If it's a busy day (because in order to get the item, they have to stop the ride), you'll have to wait until the end of the day... but you'll still get your stuff back. Patience people!

I'll save the "getting closer to God" joke.

I wonder if he had just bought the hat there?

It burns me that this stupidity happens, but yet it is a valid reason for considering the safety of rides.

Just as an FYI, the Batman ride in Santa Clarita, CA wasn't all that great. I still have yet to get on Superman (the ride, that is).

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
