Inspired by his '80s counterpart, the more talkative Johnny-5, Pixar's newest CGI hero is a robotic Mr. Bean of sorts. But that doesn't stop this taciturn cutie from falling for a bot named EVE and discovering "a whole new world." According to early buzz, WALL-E is the animated adventure to beat and the next big merchandizing blitz. Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a cuddly chunk of metal weighing down a stocking.

That short from 1984 is scary. I thought 8-bit was advanced technology 5 or 6 years after that was made!
