Billy Boy On Poison - Angry Young Man/Standing Still

Billy Boy on Poison (their name is aptly adopted from Stanley Kubrick's landmark movie, "A Clockwork Orange") is a young punk band out of LA. Young is the key word - the principals range in age from 16 to 19, but the music is surprisingly mature. They've incorporated a range of early rock influences - you might hear a little bit of the Doors, the Kinks, Sex Pistols, etc. - but the end result is their own distinctive stamp. Make no mistake about it, BBP has talent and energy to burn.

The band consists of Guitarist Ryan Wallengren, bassist Julian Borrego, rhythm guitarist Greg West and drummer Jessi Calcaterra, who provide a solid backdrop to charasmatic lead singer David LeDuke. Kiefer Sutherland & Jude Cole label Ironworks have recently signed them. Check out some of the sample videos below, or some of the other cuts of their new EP, "Sweet Mess", over at BBPs Website and see for yourself.

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
