'Let's Stay Friend's is Brooklyn-based i Les Savy Fav's first album in six years, and despite the layoff, the band sounds fresh and spirited. This time around, frontman/singer Tim Harrington and crew (Seth Jabour- Guitar, Harrison Haynes- Drums, Syd Butler- Bass) add piano, horns, dub delays, and additional vocals from a crew of indie staples, including Eleanor Friedberger of the Fiery Furnaces, Nick Thorburn (the Unicorns) and Emily Haines (Metric). The end result is a bit more mature, without leaving the band's experimental and punk roots.

Peggy Lee is one of my favorite cuts from the album and it should give you a pretty good feel of what to expect from the rest of "Let's Stay Friends":

Les Savy Sav are known as a performance band, and as such it might be better to catch the spirit of the group by checking out one of their live performances. In this clip, Herrington and his band show off their punk roots with "What Would Wolves Do", another cut off the album:

You can also check out some of their other songs off the album over at MySpace - the full track list is below. And if you like what you hear, you can get it HERE.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
