As the Wall Street Journal points out in its overview of the US Presidential candidates and the songs they play to rouse their followings, "using popular songs for political purposes is a twist on a tactic that goes back to George Washington."

Idolator has gone so far as to grade their choices. Let's take a closer look and see for yourselves. I'd have to go with Hllary or Obama if the vote was tomorrow. How about you?

Mitt Romney: Elvis Presley - "A Little Less Conversation", Alabama - "Dancin'

John Edwards: John Cougar Mellancamp - "Small Town"

Rudy Guliani - Rascal Flatts' "Life Is A Highway"

Mike Huckabee: Lynyrd Skynrd - "Free Bird", Mack Rice - "Mustang Sally"

Hillary Clinton - Big Head Todd And The Monsters - "Blue Sky". KT Tunstall - "Suddenly I See", Tom Petty - American Girl, Natasha Beddington - "Unwritten"

Bill Richardson - Los Lobos' "Mess We're In"

Barack Obama - U2's "The City Of Blinding Lights", Curtis Mayfield" - "Move On Up", O'Jays - "Give the People What They Want"

Fred Thompson - Songs by Country Music artists Big & Rich.

Ron Paul - A dozen songs written by a supporter, at least one reminiscent of Dr. John

Obama

The rest of them are idiots. I don't care about the songs. Most of them are racists too.

Bill Richardson is hispanic. Hillary and Edwards aren't racist - can't vouch for the others but I don't think Paul is racist.
