Unquestionably one of the most extraordinary talents around, Alex Parsons is one of London’s most exciting additions to the underground house music scene. Drawing inspiration from his experiences as a concert musician and a Masters degree in music, Alex cleverly mixes up a variety of styles ranging from Underground House through to funk, electro and techno. Always at the cutting-edge of new music, his intelligently crafted sets are guaranteed to be as exciting and innovative, as they are seamless…

Having started mixing just under 5 years ago, Alex was playing main room sets within 6 months. Now, an extremely experienced and versatile DJ and part of the Brique Rouge team of DJs alongside <b>David Duriez, Audio Soul Project, Mike Monday, Hardfloor and Thugfucker (live),[/b] he is being seen alongside many of the scenes high-flyers and is gaining more and more sets at top London venues including The T Bar, SE1, Turnmills, Pacha and The End.

As if that wasn’t enough, Alex’s experience in the studio is second-to-none. A fully qualified sound engineer and talented producer, his recent credits under both his own name and the Agent Toga guise (when joining minds with Australian DJ Trent Anthony) are receiving praise from house and techno legends Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink, Tiga, Phonique, Ralph Lawson and David Duriez naming just a few. They include: as well as various soundtracks for national Television, remixes for Brique Rouge, fragile and Fresh Meat, and a number of EPs released on Brique Rouge and Gourmet, with his collaboration with Tommy Four Seven, Chocolate Makes Your Clothes Shrink gaining Radio 1 airplay from Fergie and being included on the Only For DJs compilation vol. 2 in France.

There is little doubt that 2007 is a big year for Alex. Easily the most versatile, innovative and exciting DJ and producer around, he is without doubt the brightest rising star of the underground house scene.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
