Ice Cube Attacked By New Zealand Politician

icecube.jpgA New Zealand politician has called for US rapper Ice Cube’s upcoming show in the country to be cancelled because the rapper “promotes gangs, gang violence and drugs."

Ice Cube is scheduled to appear at Auckland’s Telstra Pacific Centre on August 22nd although the show is now in doubt.

Len Brown, who is running for Mayor of Manukau, a suburb of Auckland, said that Auckland didn’t want the rapper to appear.

"Why is Ice Cube coming to the Telstra Pacific Centre on 22 August this year? We don't want him. We don't need him. He is not welcome here,” said Brown.

"Ice Cube brings a gangsta message to our community via his gangsta rap. This message promotes gangs, gang violence and drugs.”

"We don't want this in our homes. We don't want it on our streets.”

Ice Cube also acts in cheesy movies like Anaconda?

I think there are more things to be concerned about than Ice Cube playing a concert in your country.

In all fairness, he's done some good movies, too.

It's been a lot of years since this guy should have been able to make that statement with a straight face though.

We've created a monster! ... BeatKing & Method just proved me wrong. :o Good job.

Lemme rephrase and just say I haven't heard his newer raps or anything, so I can't say what he's may or may not be rapping about. :)

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
