Animusic software substitute?

Hi. I have a question about the Animusic videos. They combine music with animations. Their website is www.animusic.com, but you can see some of their videos on Google video or YouTube.

They use a proprietary program called Midimotion to do the animations. They talk about that here: http://www.animusic.com/company-software.html

Midimotion is not available commercially, so does anyone know of any products on the market that does the same thing? Basically, I'm looking for something that controls my animations based on the speed/beat/sound of the music. Thanks.

i think they originated from a University... I see they now are commercialized. I would try to track the professor down there and see if he they can be helpful. I dont think anyone else has that program. If that fails, contact the guys at midmotion - maybe they will help you out since you are no a big commercial enterprise

Here is some Free animation software I googled up - maybe this will help

Do you know which university it originated from?

i could be mistaken--wikipedia doesnt say...but they do list the animation components

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animusic

i did go to their help section and they recommended people try out free animation stuff on the web if they want to learn, but they were not specific. once you get the info, write them anyway :)

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
