MTV2 and TimeWarner give local LA bands a chance to play Projekt Revolution

MTV2 and Time Warner Cable are giving a chance for local, unsigned LA area bands to open for Projekt Revolution 2007 on July 28 in San Bernardino, CA, alongside some of today's greatest bands such as Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, and Taking Back Sunday.

Band Registration Period: June 15 - June 28

Online Voting Period: June 29 - July 11

- An expert panel of judges will select 5 bands from the Top 15 online vote recipients to battle it out at the Projekt Revolution Kick-Off Party

- Projekt Revolution Kick-Off Party: July 18 at The Roxy in L.A. Each band will play a short set and battle it out in front of a panel of judges that will include members of Linkin Park and other music industry experts

- The last band standing will perform at Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution 2007 on July 28 at the Hyundai Pavilion in San Bernardino, CA

- IMPORTANT: All bands must be able to play both dates: July 18 and July 28, 2007

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
