Pela - Waiting On The Stairs

Is it just me, or is there a musical explosion coming out of Brooklyn these days? Tonight I came across a relatively young indie rock band, Pela, which is composed of: Billy McCarthy- Vocals, Guitar Eric Sanderson- Bass, Vocals Nate Martinez- Guitar Tomislav Zovich- Drums, Vocals. They bill themselves as working-class guys out of New York and California, but whatever...they make great music. Everything I sampled, I liked! They remind me of a bit of The National, but at the same time, the sound is clearly their own. The song I'm featuring this evening, Waiting On The Stairs, has a lot of energy, and is off their new cd, Aytown Graffiti.
