Havent heard this band before today, but man, that guitar-bass duet in the opening hooked me right away. A little after midway, this band really starts cooking - I wish the video was longer. Anybody know this band? Reminds me of Herbie Hancock; that may be David Sanborn on Sax

It is the Sunday Night Band from a short lived television show called Sunday Night. You can find more information here. It was a pretty good show but when comes to jazz music nothing seems to last on television. When VH1 was created it was created for the more mature crowd and on Sunday mornings they featured a number of jazz and world artists. That to was short lived. :(
