Who has seen the Chili Peppers live?

This is from awards show. I found the rendition of Scar Tissue painful. Has anyone here heard them live and how does this compare? Was this just poor sound work at the venue or ...?

The second short piece was better and speaks volumes about Snoop Dogg's ability to perform live.

I saw them last November. They sound like shit in that first video. They sounded good when I saw them. Well, when I was in the same room as them... but I couldn't see... I'm too short. :(

Never seen them live but seen a DVD and they sounded good. I think it was the sound's fault

Yeah that first vid sucked. The second one is somewhat better--I think the guess that Kedis was nodding off in that first one isn't far off the mark.

I saw them in like 1989 on the Mother's Milk tour. That was their first album with Frusciante on board. Back then they totally fucking rocked.

They're all old and shit now. Just like the rest of us.

they are the first* to introduce that type of rock and I mean the track 'Give it Away'. The rest of the album is filled with great tracks. That's the album that brought them here. The rest are just ok.

Their live performances also played a role in their huge success. Unlike the first vid Shawn posted, they are excellent and their wordrobe is too funny. I remember them wearing huge diapers in a live.

*similar to the RUN DMC/Aerosmith sound.

I know some of their stuff, and I actually prefer their slower stuff. It settles me.
