TinyPic...simple image resizing:I have found this little app to be very good for image uploading on a slow broadband connection or slow site...especially on Beatking!!..

TinyPic is a simple but effective tool to resize one or multiple images by simply dragging them onto the TinyPic interface. The program is designed for people who are not familiar with image resizing and compression levels, and it is basically fool-proof to operate. You can select between 3 different sizes and a `supersmall` option that further reduces the size by increasing the compression level. The resized images are saved with a new name in the same folder, or can be placed in a new folder, named after the selected image size. TinyPic maintained an acceptable image quality across all resize operations that we tested. Mostly suitable for resizing images to be sent by email.

Tinypic is Freeware..... :) :)

You know the problem: The new digicam takes great photos, but they are too big to send them via mail. Or your grandma has a new camera, but the last 5 Pictures took you a half hour to download. Tinypic can solve the problem an shrink digital images to 1/20 of the original size without too big quality loss. This means you can send up to 150 images with one mail! The usage is that simple that even your grandma will be pleased. Just drag the pictures on the program - ready.

The pictures will be resized and saved again. You can select different ways to preserve your original pictures:

1. Save to the same folder with extended name (i.e. K1024_oldname.JPG)

2. Save to a subfolder (i.e. K1024\)

3. Override the original files (!) Be careful: the original files will be lost.

4. Select any folder as output path.

The resulting files have a size which is suitable for mailing. TinyPic automatically selects the best compromise between quality and size without asking the user too many questions. The files will be shrunk to 3-10% of the original size without a too big quality loss.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
