coldplay.jpgColdplay singer Chris Martin have apologised to fans for "embarrasing" ticket prices for their South American shows.

The equality-campaigning star claimed ignorance over the news ticket prices had reached $160 in Chile for example.

He whimpers, “We just found out how expensive they are and would like to say we are sorry. We didn't know beforehand.

"The price is a little embarrassing. When you are a famous band, a lot of things happen that you don't know about."

they have nothing to do with prices

Yes they do. The band has the power to limit what promoters can sell them for. I once took a class focused around Bruce Springsteen and a concert he did at the arena in LA. The promotor told us that the band limited how many tickets the promotor could have, and what they could sell them for. In fact, the band caught the promotor's sister buying up tickets and putting them on the market for a higher price - and made them refund the money

99.9% of the bands don't mess with the prices. If you are huge like Coldplay, you just ask for a ridiculous amount and don't care about the tickets

True and that's why prices are so fucking high. Bands have a responsibility to make prices affordable for their fans...not just the rich folks who can afford them

If that were the case then this article wouldn't exist. Apparently he does care, to some extent.

Plus, the situation might be out of his control depending on the type of contract signed. Still, ignorance is no excuse.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
