I came across this video of D'Angelo's Chicken Grease the other evening from a live performance on the Chris Rock Show in 2000. With Jame's Brown's passing, D'Angelo would have to have been considered as the potential successor to the King of Funk if it weren't for some substance abuse problems. The last few years have not been kind to the star - he was arrested several times, and barely survived a serious car crash. Let's hope he can return to top form. Enjoy.
