As some of you know, I have been anxiously awaiting deliver of this new album. With Air, Nigel Godrich and Jarvis Cocker on board, who wouldn't be? The album was released today in France on Amazon, and you sample some music there.

I've posted links to 5:55 and the Songs We Sing before: well here is a link to another excellent cut, 'The Operation', which you can find at TheBombShelter . Enjoy.

Derek at GoodWeatherForAirStrikes offer up a new cut "Everything I Cannot See" as well as an excellent profile at their website.

Artist Profile: Charlotte Gainsbourg

Listen to this and tell me this isn’t the most exciting collaboration of 2006: lyrics by Jarvis Cocker + music by Air + vocals by Charlotte Gainsbourg = Charlotte Gainsbourg’s international debut, 5:55. Seriously. Hell, it doesn’t even stop there. They’ve got David Campbell (Beck’s dad) arranging strings, Nigel fucking Godrich – fresh off of The Eraser – behind the boards on production, and afrobeat-legend Tony Allen and The Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon fit somewhere into the equation as well. Yeah, I know – ridiculous.

We were a bit ahead of the curve on this one - the album is just being released in the states tomorrow. Most of the links above are expired, but you can still listen to several cuts over at Myspace - and there are some videos right HERE

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
