Bush & The Japanese Prime Minister Visit Graceland

CBS News covers President Bush and the Prime Minister of Japan's visit to Elvis Presley's Graceland. Hell, the Prime Minister even attempts a couple Kareoke songs...the President, who is known to wax poetically if there is a guitar around for the press, did not attempt to upstate his state visitor.

I thought the Japanese Premiere was kind of fun. I was curious as to why the hell they picked Graceland?

Bush leads Koizumi on tour of Graceland..........

It didn't take much coaxing from President Bush to get Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to croon some Elvis tunes Friday at the king of rock 'n' roll's Graceland mansion.

"You're a pretty good Elvis singer," Bush told Koizumi, an avid Elvis Presley fan.

That was all the prodding the freewheeling prime minister needed.

"Love me tender, love me sweet," Koizumi sang.

"Wise men say, only fools rush in ..."

Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
