Jeff Tweedy is a man with a one-track mind. For the Wilco front man, the creation of music is just about the only thing he thinks about. Whether it is playing music or writing music or talking about music, he is an individual who is passionate about his craft.

“Music is essential to life, and I think you’re much more a part of that process when you’re playing live,” Tweedy says on the phone from his home in Chicago. “On the other hand, it’s also really fun and exciting to make shit up and put it out.”

Tweedy and the rest of the band have been working on new songs, working outside the typical Wilco music-making process, whereby Tweedy usually brings in a list of songs for the band to work on.
