I'm always wary of those bands considered "the greatest.... of all time" when I am only familiar with one song.

Well, the English drink a lot (sorry MI and Umma) :) The band has a lot of energy - they are real, just not necessarily the greatest :)

Arctic Monkeys Rock NPR, Prep New EP

National Public Radio continues its quest to conquer the youth demographic with a live webcast of the Arctic Monkeys show tonight at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. Tune into "All Songs Considered" at 10 pm EST for some good clean fun.

Alex Turner and his lads probably won't play the title track of their new EP, Who the Fuck Are Arctic Monkeys, on the webcast; if they do, those NPR censors better have their beep buttons ready. The EP, due out April 24 on Domino UK, will be released on CD and 10" picture disc, and will contain the following tracks:

01 The View From the Afternoon

02 Cigarette Smoker Fiona

03 Despair in the Departure Lounge

04 No Buses

05 Who the Fuck Are Arctic Monkeys

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
