Why Is the Head of the FCC Sleeping With the Telcos?

The folks over at the Network Pipeline Blog Network Pipeliine Blog report that the Head of the FCC told the audience at the TelecomNext Show that he 'supports network operators' desires to offer different levels of broadband service at different speeds, and at different pricing -- a so-called "tiered" Internet service structure that opponents say could give a market advantage to deep-pocket companies who can afford to pay service providers for preferential treatment.'

Isn't it reassuring to know that the head of the FCC is in bed with the Telcos instead of supporting the wishes of consumers and the growth of the web? Such a move would not only turn the web from the community it is, in to a class system, and stunt it's growth.

Get the message, Mr. Martin - you don't work for the Telcos - you work for us. Take that idea and shove it where the sun don't shine.
