After reading this thread, I decided to search the net for similar programs. Turns out, after hours of trying, that Last.fm and Pandora are the best you can get.

What they do is pretty simple but it actually works. You enter an artist that you like and they play music similar to that. Yes, it does work, the sound quality is very good and most important, they are free.

Pandora works with flash which is not that good but it's easier to use for a beginner. Their list is huge but not as big as Last.fm's but they are getting there. Last week I entered Archive (band) and the results were not that good. This week I tried again just to compare and the new results were amazing. 100% improved. Good job Pandora people!

Last.fm has it's own player and a plugin for your audio player that tracks the music you play thus making a better choice of what you like. You don't have to download that but you slould get it. It is safe.

It's a bit harder for beginners or lazy users and reading the Help link will make it very easy. Done in 5 minutes.

Their list is big. Very big. You get amazing stuff, choose from similar users and pre made stations and many many independent artists. Great forums too.

My results: Last.fm is better. For now.

Due to the fact that you are dealing with some bot choosing the tracks you listen to, the results can sometimes be very funny but rarely happens. I chose Lonnie Smith and after 10 tracks of very good choices, some Brazilian death metal band blasted my speakers. Too funny.

I actually liked the track lol

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
