SINGER Beyonce Knowles has confirmed she wants to be the next Lois Lane.

Hollywood is planning a new Superman movie and the Grammy-winning star said she was campaigning to become the love interest to Clark Kent (and Superman).

She desperately wanted the part to break in to Hollywood movies.

"I hope so. Everyone pray that happens for me," she said yesterday.

No actor has yet been cast for the title role of Superman, though several hot young Hollywood stars have been linked to it, including Paul Walker (2 Fast 2 Furious) and Tom Welling (Smallville).

Both Johnny Depp and Bruce Willis have been rumoured to get the role of villain Lex Luthor.

Producers have looked at making the film at Sydney's Fox Studios.

I don't agree with her getting the part. She's beautiful and all, but just doesn't cut it as the person that Lois should be. I am not a Smallville watcher. My interpretation of Lois is comparible to the earlier movies with Margot Kidder. I wouldn't suggest she (Margot) go for the role at this time either. Unless they are going to trip-hop this entire movie, someone much simpler and perhaps less well-known should be cast. Besides, Beyonce already had her "break" in the last Austin Powers movie. To me, that is a worthwhile achievement, ba-by.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
