Over the last decade, Swedish power metallists Tad Morose have matured into one of the best that Europe has to offer.

With a discography that includes seven CD's, Tad Morose have shown that they are able to perservere despite several lineup changes.

2002's Matters of the Dark was certainly a highlight of the band's musical history. With outstanding song-writing, crushing guitars, and stellar vocals, Matters of the Dark has remained in my rotation since it's release.

The band's upcoming release "Modus Vivendi" equals or surpasses Matters of the Dark and shows the band's continuing improvement. As good as Matters of the Dark is, Modus Vivendi may be just that much better. The songs have a much more polished and professional sound, and the increased use of vocal harmonies fits the music like a glove.

If you're a fan of traditional power metal, Matters of the Dark and Modus Vivendi are a must for your collection.

You can check out a few of their songs at the Century Media band site

or you can find their music in the usual places ;)

As before, if you give them a listen, post back and let us know what you think.

Pretty polished.

I admit they sound good, but for the end of the first sample, and the two times I zoomed throught the second, all I could think was "who the hell does the vocalist sound like?"

A dead ringer for something, probably a decade old, but I can't place my finger on it.

Definitely worth the listen though, thanks.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
