Warner Music CEO Calls ITunes Pricing Unfair

Warner Music Group Inc. Chief Executive Edgar Bronfman Jr. said the prices of downloaded songs should vary depending on popularity and called Apple Computer Inc.'s flat 99-cent charge unfair.

...Bronfman said download prices should depend on demand. "Only one price point is not fair to our artists," he said at a New York investor conference. "The market ought to be able to decide, not a single retailer."

Prices shouldn't vary by popularity; they should be a flat price.

Currently, all prices are too high, especially for digital music with no tangible case or artwork and with bullshit restrictions.

I’d never use any pay service currently in place.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
