Teen Upsets Venus Williams at French Open

Venus Williams did plenty to beat herself, and 15-year-old Sesil Karatantcheva took care of the rest. The young Bulgarian upset an erratic Williams 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 Friday in the third round of the French Open.

watching Federer and Nadal as we speak. It's a shame that they don't meet in the final cause they are the top 2 at the moment

Teen prodigy Rafael Nadal lost a tiebreaker filled with marvelous exchanges, faced three set points in the fourth set and still beat unseeded Argentine Mariano Puerta 6-7 (6), 6-3, 6-1, 7-5 to win the French Open on Sunday for his first Grand Slam title.

Two days after celebrating his 19th birthday by defeating top-ranked Roger Federer, Nadal overcame a gallant effort from Puerta.

I expected Nadal to take it more easily after I saw how he beat Federer. Puerta is a strong player alright. Congrats to the new tennis idol

and he is only 19. Very impressive

what more could he ask for?

He won the biggest of all grand slams

The French may be the hardest to win - but I prefer the US Tennis Open - it's a much faster game

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
