Thats because he's in a race and would be conceding to the top guy. I predict he will have take the top or 2nd spot--there will be alot of pressure for him to do so. As of today, Lieberman and the General are going down. And Dean made a mistake by not entering any of the 7 primaries--

I'm not making the assumption at this point that a Kerry/Edwards ticket could win the election, but quite often a president and vice-president have a lot of tension and resentment between them. The best example that comes to mind is John Kennedy/Lyndon Johnson, but I also enjoy the portrayal of such a relationship between president/vice-president on the TV show West Wing.

Kerry will win the most delegates tonight, but john Edwards just won in South Carolina and his electrifying winner's speech put him squarely in the national spotlight. I'll be surprised if it doesn't help him pass Kerry later on in this process. If it should turn out to be too late for Edwards to overtake Kerry, Kerry has to convince Edwards to be on the Democratic ticket with him, and Edwards has to realize that he owes to the Democratic Party to take the lower spot in order to strengthen the ticket and offer two solid choices.

Ok, for serious political followers, here is an astrological profiling report on the candidates from the NY Times! Since I know something about the subject, I will add my own comments:

February 3, 2004

By ERIN SULLIVAN

SANTA FE, N.M. - If seeking the presidency is like reaching

for the stars, then why not look to the stars - and the

other heavenly bodies - for insights on the candidates. The

Democratic hopefuls face seven primaries today. Here's what

their astrological charts can tell voters about their

character - and who may have a celestial advantage:

Wesley Clark was born on Dec. 23, 1944, with Sun in

Capricorn and Moon in Aries, two leadership and executive

signs. He has a warrior signature: when civilized it

indicates a master strategist; at its most martial, it is

ruthlessly determined and messianic. For him, this year is

an astrological rite of passage into elder status. His

conservative Capricorn nature is now at its most rigorous,

so what we see is who he is. Endowed with wit and a

youthful nature, General Clark is a man's man. His

horoscope shows him at a high point of achievement, having

opportunities to be influential and willing to take what he

can get.

Dude: Moon in Aries makes him driven but emotional beneath

the surface. He has all the ingredients to be President. Jupiter,

the planet of expansion, lies in the 11th house of dreams, hopes

and wishes. He has a shot at catching the brass ring, but might

have peaked too early.

Howard Dean was born on Nov. 17, 1948, with a Scorpio Sun

and Gemini Moon. Thus, Dr. Dean's character contains a

paradox: he is both deep and shallow. He can be cool and

distant or passionate and intense. The position of two of

the planets in his chart shows erratic energy and emotional

volatility. His horoscope for June 2003 through the coming

spring shows a period of soul searching. Astrologically, it

is a time of the mythic "brother battle," in which Mr.

Dean's confrontations with others really reflect his own

inner conflict.

The Dude: This is going to be a year of hard work and ups

and downs for Dean. His moon falls in the house of work,

making him emotional in his task. Jupiter, the planet of

expansion, falls in the house of promotions--we are going

to hear a lot from Mr. Dean for the rest of the year. But

he's not going anywhere.. but next year, he will come into

his own again when he writes his book and goes on the talk

show circuit.

John Edwards, born on June 10, 1953, is a Gemini with the

Moon in Gemini. There is much in his horoscope that makes

him the puer aeternus, the eternal boy. His mind is playful

and rich with ideas. However, his chart shows him to be a

true son of the messenger and trickster god, and so capable

of exceptional dualism. His horoscope tells us that he

abhors confrontation unless he knows he is morally

justified. Having battled inner demons over the last three

years, Mr. Edwards will rise this summer like a giant

refreshed.

The Dude: With a Gemini Sun and Moon, Edwards is

going to connect in a big way with voters across both political

parties--but more in a familial way. His career house isnt

accentuated this year as big as Kerry's...but I wouldn't

count him out--he's a comer...

John Kerry, born on Dec. 11, 1943, is a Sagittarius with

four Gemini planets in the public relationship sector of

his birth chart. He has a judicial character, but also has

little tolerance for fools. Born with the rare Mars

retrograde, he entered life with a rage - a deep, inner

need to overcome (the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. also

had the Mars retrograde). He has a strong sense of

responsibility as well as feelings of caution about his

message. Over the last 18 months the planets have empowered

him with core strength. The long-term picture depicts him

achieving his highest goals.

The Dude: Of all the candidates, Kerry has the best shot.

Jupiter the planet of expansion falls in his career house,

and with four planets in gemini, he's likely to have a lot

of partners to help him get to the White House.

forthcoming "Astrology and Psychology of Midlife and

Aging."

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
