LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise has a new girlfriend, his publicist revealed, as he bounces back from romances with stars Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz.

The 42-year-old star of "Top Gun," "Risky Business", and "Mission Impossible" is going out with American actress Katie Holmes, 26, the star's aides said.

"Tom and Katie are dating," Cruise's representative told AFP. "They have been a dating for a few weeks, but right now, I don't have any more information about them," the publicist said.

Katie: No Sex Before Marriage

Bless Tom Cruise - he really has landed himself the ultimate mission impossible with his new girlfriend Katie Holmes.

The Dawson's Creek star has reportedly said that she's actually saving herself for Mr Right and there'll be no sex before marriage.

The 26-year old, who's been dating Tom for a few weeks now, is enjoying a romantic break with the 42-year-old in Rome.

But although there will be romance, there'll be no passion.

According to The Sun, Katie's been dubbed Hollywood's 'mild child' after claiming she was going to remain a virgin until she gets married.

She recently described herself as: "Boring, boring, boring. If you want dirt, I'm not your girl."

She's also said that she consults her lawyer dad on every major decision, and it seems those who want to get close to Katie have their work cut out.

"He always tried to intimate boys who wanted to date me," she once said about the 60-year-old.

But clearly, so far so good for Tom, with news that the couple have booked into a swanky £2,000-a-night hotel in Italy's capital.

The Sun reports a source at the Hassler Hotel as saying: "He wanted a romantic atmosphere and ordered as many red roses as we could find to fill the suite."

Apparently jewellery was delivered to the room for Katie and more than 40 outfits were sent over by designer Giorgio Armani.

Katie will soon be seen on the big screen in Batman Begins, while Tom's next movie to be released is the much-anticipated War Of The Worlds.
