Partial Oasis Album Spreads Through BitTorrent

Thomas Mennecke - Slyck

The British group "Oasis" are finding more songs from their upcoming album "Don't Believe the Truth" online. The first song to trickle its way online was titled "Lyla", which began appearing on P2P networks in late March. However, due to an unexpected turn of events, nearly half of the album is now available.

This unexpected turn of events may be in part due to an individual selling the full album on eBay. According to reports, the album was selling for approximately $19 US dollars, or 9.99 British Pounds. The seller, "KBROWN123" no longer has the item up for auction. The album is not scheduled for released until May 16th.

blah blah blah....

truth is I never bothered reading the whole thing. I thought it was the same old "artists and label are furious over this...... blah blah" and stopped reading after the first paragraph.

My bad

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
