Can a New Disposable Battery Change Your Life? Parts of It, Maybe

This June, Panasonic will introduce Oxyride batteries: AA and AAA disposable batteries that the company calls "the most significant developments in primary battery technology in 40 years." According to Panasonic, these batteries last up to twice as long as premium alkaline batteries like Duracell Ultra ($5 for four), yet cost the same as regular alkalines ($4 for four).

good article..sounds good to me......we were having trouble with my wifes digital camera when we were running it on batteries....we changed to the right type of digital camera batteries and lo and behold....we certainly noticed a difference... :)

When I bought my digital camera, they told me to buy 6 proper digital camera batteries - keep 2 in the camera, 2 on charge, and 2 as spares in the case the 2 in the camera die.

Assuming your other half doesn't leave the four spares on the kitchen counter when you go away for 10 days it works brilliantly!

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
