I Imagine You're All Jealous Of Me

It's a balmy day in the Great White this morning.

This is in celsius, but for users of Farhenhuit I'll just say it's cold enough to freeze your 'mechanical carriages' to the ground. (I think the 2 scales line up at -50)

You have to love that wind chill.

i was up on the mountain a couple of days ago and the temperature was about the same but by 12 o' clock the temperature was perfect for skiing.

I slammed my head so hard after a jump and I called a day within an hour lol

Canadians are known as a hardy bunch, but this is ridiculous.

I'm leaning toward the guy across the street's thinking. About an hour and a half ago, his car horn just decided to start blaring for no reason. After ignoring the noise for awhile, I decided to poke my head out the door and see what was up.

The owner was standing inside, at the window, looking out at his car. Not a movement. I think he was hoping the battery would die. After waiting 30 minutes or so to see if it would stop, he ran out, lifted the hood, reefed on some wires and ran back inside.

Problem solved for now.

It sounds like you live on a strange little planet. But when I woke up this morning to 15F, I didn't get too down.....my first thought was,"Well it could be worse, I could live on Cheapprickworld...." That made me feel better, at least until I stepped on the cold floor.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
