Toto Bassist Mike Porcaro Dead at 59

Mike Porcaro, Toto's long-time bassist, has died following a battle with ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's Disease), Rolling Stone reports. He was 59.

Porcaro joined his brothers Steve and Jeff as a member of Toto in 1984. He replaced David Hungate after Toto IV (which featured the hits "Rosanna" and "Africa"). He played bass with the band on their subsequent world tours and albums from 1984's Isolation on. He stopped touring with the band in the mid-2000s when his health started to decline.
