Lil Wayne Sues Birdman and Cash Money for $51 Million, Freedom From Label

After negotiations between the two parties fell apartLil Wayne has indeed filed a lawsuit against Cash Money, TMZ reports. Wayne and his lawyers have asked a judge to end his contract with Cash Money. They say Birdman and the label violated his contract by withholding the money he's owed for the months-delayed album Tha Carter V.

In addition to freedom from his contract with the label, Wayne is reportedly suing for $51 million. He has also asked the judge to rule that he's the joint copyright owner of all Young Money records.

A previous report indicated that he'd ask for $8 million.
