Zola Jesus Performs "Nail" In the Street During NYC Blizzard

Winter Storm Juno is currently marching up the East Coast, bringing cities to a standstill and forcing the cancellations of shows throughout the country. At least one gig, however, went on as planned: Zola Jesus' Monday night set at Brooklyn bar St. Vitus, which took place earlier than scheduled in order to beat the storm. At one point during the show, Zola Jesus decided to take advantage of the empty streets and led the crowd outside, where she tore into Taiga's "Nail" amidst the howling winds and drifting snow. Surrounded by the crowd and accompanied by a lone trombone, she paced around, giving a stoic performance (improperly dressed for a snowstorm, natch). Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
