Missing radioactive Halliburton shipment found

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Halliburton Co. shipment of radioactive material that landed in New York in October was lost en route to Texas and was not found until Wednesday, when it turned up in Boston.

The material -- two sources of the element americium, used in oil well exploration -- was found intact at a freight facility after federal authorities conducted an intense search. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said it first learned of the missing shipment on Tuesday.

Both the NRC and Halliburton officials said Thursday that the public never was in danger.......

They should have checked thier calenders. The DNC WAS in Boston last year. :lol:

When you are making millions off a war, why worry about little details like missing radioactive material. I mean, hey, they never found the WMD's, so its like, wow, no problem...

:lol: y'know, in a normal world, this shit would be screaming headlines; now it's just relegated to an afterthought almost, cause there's so much other bullshit being flung at the people. i was trying to make like a scorecard, beginning w/the bushCo scandals and other assorted criminal shite but i lost track; there are way too many of them.

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
