Stream Diplo's Florida Reissue, Plus Bonus Tracks, Via Pitchfork Advance

In honor of its 10th anniversary, Diplo is reissuing his 2004 album Florida. The expanded, two-disc set will be released on November 28 (Black Friday) via Big Dada, and includes both the original album and a disc containing previously unheard tracks and remixes. His 2003 Epistemology Suite EP (released under the name Diplodocus) will also be included.

Earlier this week, Diplo released a version of the reissue via BitTorrent. The BitTorrent version included the original album, plus an unreleased Eprom remix of "Big Lost", the stems for "Into the Sun", a message from Diplo, various pieces of art, and emails Diplo sent to his label, Big Dada, to accompany his demo. However, the second disc of the reissue was not included in the BitTorrent bundle.

Now, the full, two-disc version of the Florida reissue is streaming in full over at Pitchfork Advance, our online streaming platform designed to emulate the album listening experience. Listen here until November 28. Find the full tracklist below. Above, listen to Diplo's 10-minute-long commentary about the album. He talks about making the album, its inspirations, and his life at the time.

This week, Pitchfork Advance is also streaming Gala Drop's new album IIFull of Hell's collaborative album with Merzbow, and the Ariel Kalma compilation An Evolutionary Music (Original Recordings: 1972-1979).

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
