Freddie Gibbs was the alleged target of a shooting in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood last night, The New York Post reports. Gibbs had just finished performing at the record store/concert venue Rough Trade, and was sitting in his car on North 9th St. near Wythe Ave., when a gunman opened fire.

Gibbs wasn't shot, but two men believed to be members of his entourage were hit. They were taken to Bellevue hospital, though neither person's wounds are reported as serious. They are in stable condition. Gibbs said he hid for cover in the record store.

"They tried to kill Tupac. They tried to kill me," Gibbs told the Post. "I’m still alive."

No arrests have been made yet.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
