Roxy Music Break Up, Ready Box Sets of First Two Albums

Roxy Music reformed in 2001—their most recent set of reunion dates took place back in 2011. When Bryan Ferry talked to Pitchfork in 2010, he discussed a hypothetical new Roxy Music album, saying it would be "more abstract and experimental" if it would ever happen. Apparently, that's not going to happen. Phil Manzanera told Rolling Stone that after the 2011 reunion, the band broke up. "I think our job is done," he said. 

Manzanera added:

"Musicians like to do new things. It's unfortunate for the fans, really, because they would like you to play the same old stuff forever and ever. And they go see it and they feel like, 'Man, they aren't as good as they used to be.' I'm very happy doing new things. I've got a couple of albums coming in the next year."

It's not all bad news on the Roxy front, though: Manzanera says the band's first two albums will be released next year in box set form and will include Brian Eno "ingredients and stuff".
