Brian Eno to Reissue Four 1990s Albums With Unreleased Recordings

On December 2, All Saints Records will reissue four albums Brian Eno released in the 1990s. Nerve Net (1992), The Shutov Assembly (1992), Neroli (1993), and The Drop (1997) will each come with a bonus disc featuring previously unreleased material.

Nerve Net comes packaged with My Squelchy Life, a "lost" album intended for a 1991 release. Shutov comes with seven unreleased recordings made in the same period as the album's sessions. Neroli comes with New Space Music—an hour-long piece of ambient drone music. The Drop comes with nine tracks recorded during the same period—they were previously only available at Eno's 2006 exhibit in Japan of "77 Million Paintings".

Neroli (and New Space Music) are the only two records that won't receive a vinyl pressing—Eno didn't want to split up the tracks.

Find more information about the reissues here. All of them also come with 16-page booklets featuring notes from Eno plus images.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
